The Jet Star 2 is a high speed roller coaster. It starts by spiraling up a steel track using a hot rail that provide electricity to a motor in the cars to drive them up the hot rail. The first drop is 45 feet, and the ride total takes about 1:00 at the most. It was put into Lagoon in 1976. It is in it's 27th season with Lagoon and is still as popular as ever! The same company that built the Fire Dragon at Lagoon, built the Jet Star Coasters. There are 3 different Jet Star models, there was a Jet Star 1, the Jet Star 2, and the Jet Star 3 A.K.A. Jumbo Jet. The question that gets asked alot by guests at Lagoon, where Jet Star 1? The answer is that there never was a Jet Star 1 at Lagoon. The name is just the model of coaster. |  |
 | The coaster gets new wheels for it's cars every year. That's why for the 2003 season that just started it opened late becasue of the late shipment of these wheels. The new wheels make the coaster quieter, cause usually you can here the coaster really well. They also make the ride smoother. |
Shown to the right is one of the Jet Star's cars. Each car hold a min of 6 people and max of 8 people. The cars have to have at least six to be sent so if you are going to ride Jet tar make sure theres people in line or you have a group of at least 6 riders. Other wise on slow days you could be waiting not in a line but for riders.
