Lagoon's Roller Coaster is the largest coaster on the park. It was put in at Lagoon is 1921 and designed and built by John A. Miller of International Amusement Devices.
It was originally called "Pippin' Dips" by John Miller's Company,but was named "Roller Coaster" when it opend at Lagoon. It was originally un-painted. Even though its official name is Roller Coaster, many people that live around Lagoon call it "White Roller Coaster" | ![]() |
![]() | Some history on the WRC (White Roller Coaster), it is the 8th oldest coaster operating in the United States. On November 14, 1953 it's east side was burnt down. The flames from that fire were so high that they could be seen in nearby Salt Lake City. The next year Roller Coaster was rebuilt. |
To Ensure its safety large sections
are rebuilt every year. This year for 2003 the second turn, the turn that goes under the lift hill, has been rebuilt (shown to the right). | ![]() |
